Clowning Around

Aaron the Clown. Just kidding.
Actually just some guy from
FreeDigitalPhotos.net.
Liam's summer camp theme for the week was Under the Big Top. I heard a clown was visiting one day, so I asked him about it.

K: How was the clown today?
L: Meh.
K: Well what was the clown like?
L: Boring. He didn't do anything.
K: Did he juggle?
L: No.
K: Did he make balloon animals?
L: No.
K: Did he do any tricks?
L: No.
K: Did he tell jokes?
L: No.

(I kept firing these questions at Liam, trying to make him laugh, but he was totally poker faced.)

K: What was he wearing?
L: Normal clothes.
K: Red nose?
L: No.
K: Clown shoes?
L: No.
K: Are you kidding me?
L: No.
K: What was his name?
L: Aaron.
K: Are you sure? Clowns are supposed to have fun names like Spanky the Clown and Dippity Doo Dah, not Aaron.
L: ...yeah.
K: What kind of lame excuse for a clown was this guy? Aaron?! Aaron the Clown who doesn't even look like a clown or act like a clown? Give me a break! Tell you what, tomorrow morning, you and I are going to paint up our faces and head down there and show everybody how to be a real clown!

(Finally, a little smile.)

A google search came up with no clowns in our area named Aaron. So it's possible that this Aaron character is not even a real clown, just a regular guy posing as a clown. (gasp!)

Update: turns out Aaron is a clown trainer, not an actual clown. Liam was still upset that he wasn't very clown-y, and did not accept my analogy that lion trainers are not the least bit like lions.
