Honking and blabbing

Friday-Sunday I went to visit my family in Wisconsin, and celebrated my 33rd birthday with them. (See post below, I ought to have grown up by now!)

Friday night, after dinner, Will and I went out for a walk. We saw a flock of geese heading north, then another, then more...they passed over every few minutes. There must have been three or four thousand geese. Most of them flew over us honking, but one group passed directly over our heads in silence, and we listened to the wind in their feathers.

A week sure has made a difference in Liam's mobility. He walks all the time now. Okay, actually he staggers around like somebody spiked his apple juice, but most of the time he does stay upright.

A few months ago, it seemed like he was saying a lot of words, maybe a dozen or more. Then he abruptly stopped, and the only word I could make out was dog. My theory is that learning to walk required all of his concentration for a while. Now, he is adding to his vocabulary again. This weekend we heard light, on, down, fan, all done, and Grandpa!
