Finally a sunny day...time to get out the bikes!

The third wheel. Liam is in the background
sitting on the bunny's head.
Liam and I had a great bike ride this afternoon.  We rode together on three wheels to the "chocolate" bunny sculpture, a little over 6 miles round trip, and he pedaled enthusiastically the whole way.  He doesn't stay focused on balancing, and we had one close call where he leaned suddenly and I had to swerve into oncoming traffic in order not to wipe out.  But overall things went well.

I sprained my knee the week before last, and had to take a week off from running. This week I managed two very slow, easy jogs, and now the bike ride. This injury is a much bigger handicap than it would have been five or ten years ago, when I wasn't as physically active, and I didn't depend on my knees for hauling sleepy/uncooperative children up and down the stairs.  I'm going to have it looked at, maybe get a scan, and see if something needs to be repaired or if I need to do some kind of physical therapy.  Ugh.

Liam has also been getting around on a borrowed scooter.  It's pink and purple, with Disney princesses.  He was a bit self conscious about that, but has a response ready in case anyone teases him about riding a "girl" scooter.  "I will just say that my mom likes pink, and I love my mom, so pink is okay."  Something to that effect.
