Baby Doll

Timothy has taken a keen interest in the new babies in our lives.  I think it all started when he got to hold newborn Drew.  He was just delighted, even when Drew got fussy.

A few weeks ago, we were at the Children's Museum, and he found a baby doll and carried it around for a long time.  He rocked it, cuddled it, talked to it...and then he put it in a stock pot on the pretend stove.  Hmm, guess we need to work on the finer points of childcare.

Last week, Azalea and her mom Melissa visited, and he kept exclaiming "Baby Zeewea! So tyute!" (Translation: baby Azalea, so cute.)  He asked to hold her, too.

So, I got him a doll.  Let me tell you, Super Target does not sell androgynous dolls, and certainly not baby boy dolls.  They are all pink, and ruffly, and guess what - that was just fine with TJ!  The label on the box said Starter Baby.  Just add water?  Or as my friend quipped, if this baby doesn't work out, just trade it in.

He named her Baby Zeewea.
