Timothy has been observing his big brother's toilet routine with great interest lately, and he likes to assist in getting the paper and flushing. Tonight, he requested to sit on the toilet. He knew exactly what to do, though he didn't produce anything. With no prompting, he pulled up his pants, flushed, closed the lid, and asked for a boost so he could wash his hands. I hope this means he will be easy to train. I'm sure it will be a while before he connects the urge with the act, and learns to hold it until the right moment.
We took Liam to the clinic recently and went through his symptoms: high fever, runny nose, upset stomach, bright red cheeks. The nurse who examined him couldn't determine what the exact problem was, maybe an infection...she told us to come back if the fever stuck around. It took me a while to connect the dots, but eventually I realized these were the same symptoms Liam always had as a baby, when he was teething. Sure enough, there's a fat new molar in the back of his mouth. So now my 4-year-old has two of his "6-year" molars. Is he going to start losing baby teeth soon?
