We went for a family bike ride last night, five miles or so, up around the lake and back. So fun! The boys sit next to each other in The Chariot, our bike trailer we inherited from my sister. Liam points out every dog we pass, and Timothy seems to enjoy himself in spite of his helmet creeping down almost over his eyes. My thighs are in no shape for a long ride right now, but with a little conditioning, I think the Grahams will be ready to hit the trails.
I'm also encouraging Liam to ride his own little bike, so that we can go on walks without having to push both kids in the stroller. (Together they weigh 70 pounds.) This weekend, Liam pedaled his bike to the park and back. This is a huge improvement over creeping around the block and bursting into tears over the smallest, gentlest incline. I was prepared for drama when he got to the big hill by the school. Luckily, a dog came by just as we reached the crest, and Liam was so enthusiastic about following the dog that he forgot to freak out.
