I Do Not Like Them

Liam asked if he could have a rice cake, but when I gave it to him, he said, "I don't like rice cakes."

"But you just asked for one."

"Mama, I don't LIKE rice cakes."

"You liked them last time."

"I don't like rice cakes."

"Well, how about if you just try it." By this point I was exasperated. And then Liam carefully delivered the punch line.

"Mama, if you will let me be, I will try them, you will see."
