Evening at the park

I haven't posted pictures for a while, so here are a few to show how our boy has grown. We celebrated Memorial Day at Lake Harriet, where Grandpa (aka Bill the Motorman) was driving the streetcar. I think a lot of people have been looking forward to the day when the youngest William could learn how to run the token counting machine. Cousin Christopher was crazy about the streetcar and Liam will be too, just give him another year.

After our ride, we went over to the rose gardens and Liam played in the fountain with the turtles. I think this particular fountain has been entertaining toddlers for about 100 years. Liam made a friend, who ran up and tried to give him a hug.

I love going over there on a warm evening and seeing so many different kinds of people (and animals) enjoying the lake. Last night we saw a withered Somali grandma, with her robes flapping in the wind, bent over a baby carriage and cooing at the tiny new person who was sheltered inside. We also saw a little wiener dog swimming its heart out.
