I wanted to throw a party when the mustard yellow wall tile and peach floor tile and faux-marble toilet seat went away. (Okay, I know it was the 70's when you redecorated the last time, but Joan...Bill...what were you thinking?!) (P.S. Will, this is not a good time to bring up the Burnt Camel misjudgment. Again.)
I'd like to give a nod to the year 1948, when the house was built, and decorate the new bathroom in sort of a retro-modern style. I've been looking for inspiration at some online archives of old advertisements. Get a load of this:
Breathtaking, isn't it? That's our original kitchen tile and counter tops, from the kitchen addition circa 1952. And the dear old electric range! (or her sister, at any rate.) But we had the oak cabinets with the hammered copper barn-door hardware.
When we get the bathroom done I am totally going to style my hair like that and pose in my robe.
What color sink and tub should I pick? Pink, or baby blue?
