Tough kid

You should see the other guy
Liam was horsing around in the kitchen one recent evening, while I prepared dinner and Will cleaned up.  We heard Liam fall, and start crying.  When he stood up, there was blood all over his head and hands, and pooling on the floor...ahhh!!  He had split his forehead right open.

I comforted and applied pressure while Will gathered up the necessities for a trip to urgent care.  (In the middle of all this - ding dong - our friends arrived for dinner.)  For once, I was grateful for Will's prior injuries, because he was cool about everything and knew just what to expect.

Liam ended up with four stitches.  Will reports that he was amazingly calm and brave about the whole thing, and didn't cry after the initial mopping up, even while they sewed him up.  I think it helped that he never saw the needle; they covered his eyes with a towel.  The worst part was taking the bandage off two days later, because it was all stuck to the little fine hairs along his hairline.

Liam now refers to the wound as his Little Crack.  As in, "My little crack is really itchy."

  1. Between lap dances and his itchy crack, this kid is making me crack up all over the place :)
