Halloween

Timothy in the dragon costume
The kids got to dress up for Halloween twice this year.  Friday, Liam had a preschool party and he went as a firefighter.  They also had a party at daycare, and Timothy reluctantly put on his dragon costume.  They each got a plastic pumpkin bucket with a few candies and toys from Jeannie.

When it was time to go trick-or-treating on Sunday, I took the stuff out of the buckets and handed one to Timothy.  He had a fit.  He kept looking and pointing in the bucket and stomping his feet.  Where's my candy?!  So I had to give him a lolly before we even left the house.

I scored this astronaut costume at the last minute, on clearance, thinking Liam could wear it next year.  Who was I kidding?  Of course he had to wear it trick-or-treating, and I barely managed to talk him out of wearing it to bed and to church.  (I wouldn't have minded, except it is really warm, like a snowsuit.)  I explained how astronauts don't wear their space suits in bed, they wear Velcro pajamas, so that they won't float away in their sleep.

Liam the astronaut
Later I asked Liam what his job was at the space station.  Space police, he said.  He explained that if I tried to go to the moon, he would have to arrest me and put me in space jail.  I am not allowed to go there because I am not an astronaut or a scientist.
