Last month, Liam picked out some flip-flops in his favorite color, orange. We asked the cashier to cut off the tags so he could wear them immediately, and he tripped on the way out to the parking lot.
Since then, he has worn them a number of times, with no noticeable improvement. We walked to the local wading pool, and he had to hang on to the stroller the whole way, tripping too many times to count.
Is walking in flip-flops an important life skill? It wasn't on the pre-Kindergarten screening! Maybe clumsiness is par for the course when you're a hand taller than all the other 4-year-olds, and he'll just grow out of it.
