Goodbye to swaddling

Ever since Timothy was born, we have been putting him to bed at night wrapped in a swaddler - one of those blankets with Velcro that holds it on tight. A couple of weeks ago he learned to roll over, and with his arms pinned down, he was stuck face-down like a turtle on its back. He would grunt and kick and arch his back, but to no avail. Then he learned to completely wiggle out of the swaddler. So I retired it during our trip to California.

Besides rolling across the room, Timothy also can sit up for a couple seconds on his own, scoop up small objects in his fist, and eat from a spoon. Right now we are working on the orange end of the spectrum: yams, carrots, squash. Next week we will start green. The spit-up just gets more and more exciting.
