Mmm-hmm

Sometimes I acknowledge what Liam says by replying, mmm-hmm. I didn't realize this until Liam started pointing it out to me. Last night, we were eating dinner and he made some comment that I replied to in this manner.

Liam: "Mama says mmm-hmm."
Me: "It means yes. Daddy says it sometimes too."

Liam was quiet for a long time, and I could tell he was pondering this deeply. Then, very seriously -

Liam: "All that family says mmm-hmm. It means yes."
