DIY microwave popcorn

A coworker tipped me off to this cool idea: you can make your own microwave popcorn by putting popcorn kernels and a little olive oil in a brown paper bag. This is less expensive than the grocery store pre-packaged variety, and much more nutritious.

Well, okay, nutritious is not really the right word, since plain popcorn has virtually no nutritional value. But at least you don't have to ingest all the artificial color and preservatives and fake cheese/butter that is in the packaged kind and doesn't even taste good.

Alton Brown gets credit for this recipe. Tip: pop it on a plate, to catch any oil that soaks through the bag.
